Battle Mental Illness Or Embrace the Crazy?

When Mariel Hemingway titled a Sundance favorite  "Running From Crazy" one suspected it was about the actresses' eclectic clan's goings-on and her insistence on avoiding their darker side  - read suicide. You either thought, interesting  film name or a celebrity  rejecting a treatable health issue.

Playing Devil's Advocate, instead of running from it or unleashing the medical establishment to cure it, perhaps embrace  or welcome momentary melancholy, applaud mania, put personality disorder on a pedestal.  I often wonder if the American fascination with constant happiness is unhealthy and that exploring the Mad Pride Movement is more in tune with the rest of the world that lets life be and doesn't seek to treat every blessed thing.
